Innovative Works

A Class is an amalgam of personas. They are different in their taste, feeling and ways of learning. Therefore, a Teacher has to consider all those multiplicities. Teaching materials play a prominent role in satisfying the diversities in a class. Innovation in teaching materials are necessary when the class consists of active, unique students.

An idea can change your life. A change in life changes a person. Then why can't we start it at the early stage. It starts from the school. I just tried to design a different lesson plan to create a freshness in the class. Just see this.

UTKATASANA

Image
Sitting in a chair may sound very easy and comfortable. But sitting in an imaginary chair might be a little challenging! And this is exactly what we do in Utkatasana or Chair Pose. The literal meaning of Utkatasana is intense posture or powerful posture. ( Utkat =Intense, Powerful;  Asana = Posture/Pose; pronounced as U-t-kat- asana). You need just a little bit of determination to stay longer in the Chair Posture. Make sure you read the contraindications before you start. Stand erect with your feet slightly apart. Stretch your hands to the front with palms facing downwards. Do not bend your elbows. Bend the knees and gently push your pelvis down as if you are sitting in an imaginary chair. Be comfortable or at least try to be! To get a better feel of the Chair Pose, imagine reading a newspaper or typing on a laptop as you remain seated. Ensure that you keep your hands parallel to the ground. With awareness, sit straight and lengthen your spine. Relax. Keep breat...

VRIKSHASANA

Vriksha  - Tree;  Asan a - Posture or Pose The asana is pronounced as  VRIK-shAH-sana This posture replicates the graceful, steady stance of a tree. Unlike most yoga poses, the Tree Pose requires keeping our eyes open in order to maintain body balance. 1) Stand tall and straight with arms by the side of your body. 2) Bend your right knee and place the right foot high up on your left thigh. The sole of the foot should be placed flat and firmly near the root of the thigh. 3) Make sure that your left leg is straight. Find your balance. 4) Once you are well balanced, take a deep breath in, gracefully raise your arms over your head from the side, and bring your palms together in ‘Namaste’ mudra (hands-folded position).  5) Look straight ahead in front of you, at a distant object. A steady gaze helps maintain a steady balance. 6) Ensure that your spine is straight. Your entire body should be taut, like a stretched elastic band. Keep taking in long deep b...

Reflections of teaching practice phase 2

Image
21/01/2019 - 25/01/2019 I was going through moments of sadness because teaching practice was heading towards its end. In the last week, I tried to teach various Yogasanas. The students were really enjoying it. I have conducted an achievement test. Then I have prepared students for annual day function. On 25th January 2019, I watched speech , cultural programs and the school surroundings with a heavy heart. I will surely miss all those lovely moments with the staffs and students of C. A. M. H. S.

04/01/2019 - 16/01/2019 After a short break, I came to C. A. M. H. S with a fresh, enthusiastic mind. I gave a conscientisation on the benefits of drinking water. Then I prepared an achievement test. I really enjoyed it and students actively responded.
